Hello All,
I have an HP IPAQ 4150(part of 4100 series). Has Bluetooth and WLAN capabilities. For quite some time now, I have tried to connect to internet. 2 Things I am attmempting to do:

1-Create a connection from my home wireless Router. I have asked numerous people/experts, even took an on-line HP course...Still no luck. I have a Linksys Router which my IPaq recongizes and connects to. I also entered IP address of Home PC. What else do I have to configue to connect to internet? It seems to always switch the available connections, but still never works(either page not found error or no Network card settings error). Who can walk me through ALL the steps to set up?

2-How do I go about getting an internet connection all the time, no matter where I am? Is there a service or ethernet/air card I can purchase? I have asked several phone services, but they have no clue what i am talking about??

I have downloaded all the currenbt versions of ROM as most people have recommened. Still no luck....If the people at HP cannot help me, who can??

Welcome to Geekzone...

First things first: make sure you do have installed all the latest updates for your iPAQ.

Having done that, your problem doesn't sound like anything related to the network at all. Make sure you clean the configuration in the Wireless Card item in your Pocket PC. Leave it all in automatic.

On your Pocket PC open File Explorer, browse to \Windows and tap on welcome.exe. Follow the instructions and at the end soft reset the device. Try connecting again.

The best tool you can have on your Pocket PC to make sure your network is working is VxUtil. You can do thing such as PING or see the device's network information.

After your device finds and connect to the Access Point you should use VxUtil to PING a known host by name and IP address, this will show if your device has connectivity or not.

Also, make sure to connect without any security first, just to see if it works ok. Then you can enable security. And turn off any Turbo mode on the router, because this causes problems.

Ok...thank you for the response....but a few things....I am not to savvy on this device...but I am willing to learn...
#1-I have updated all ROM software and have done a hard reset(is this what you mean by clean config???). everything is set on "set up automatic network"
#2- I just realized I have a Linksys router model #RT31P2...Which I recieved from Vonage...Linksys told me I have the wrong router to establish a LAN connection....Is this true?? If that is the case, why do I see so many connections available on my IPAQ?
#3- I do not see "\Windows and tap on welcome.exee" on my file explorer?? But I have done a hard reset....

the link that is there has many prodcuts to choose from...which one do I choose???

How do I turn off turbo mode?? that is actually only if I have the right router anyway??

Too many problems...these seems impossible.....

How do I go about getting an air-card to have internet connection all the time??
but I guess I have to 1st get LAN to work...right??

I'm so lost!!
