Mauricio started a topic a while back about not being able to call 028 numbers from WxC.

Maverick's response was that it was in breach of the NAD due to being 1 digit too short, and they wouldn't be routing it, end of story.

I emailed both CallPlus and the NAD, as well as Maverick, and the end result was that the NAD granted CallPlus an exemption to use the 028 range one digit shorter, since they'd already allocated a bunch of numbers at that length.

However, to date, WxC are still refusing to route calls to 028 numbers. Come on guys - the only numbers allocated in the 028 range are 3+6 digits, so why not change your configs to allow those numbers to be dialed from within your network?

From www.nad.org.nz:

02887 Callplus Limited  Assigned 19-Dec-02  CallPlus has an exemption to rule 3.2.2 to allow minimum number length of 9 digits. Exemption expires 31.08.09.
02888 Callplus Limited  Assigned 19-Dec-02  CallPlus has an exemption to rule 3.2.2 to allow minimum number length of 9 digits. Exemption expires 31.08.09.
02889 Callplus Limited  Assigned 19-Dec-02  CallPlus has an exemption to rule 3.2.2 to allow minimum number length of 9 digits. Exemption expires 31.08.09.

Try adding an extra "0" to the end of the number:
eg. 028 871 234 becomes 028 871 2340

Seems to be working now anyway :) Thanks WxC! Would've been nice to be told it was resolved, though Undecided

Hmmm. It's still not working for me - an 028 number with six digits.

It works if I add an extra "0".

No longer working for me today either with 028 + 6 digits. Maybe they wanted to tease us? Wink

I would just give out my 028 number as "028 XXX XXX0", except this doesn't work from Vodafone mobiles (only 028 XXX XXX, if you add an 0 you get a "this number is no longer in service" message) Cry
