We were the First in the WORLD to get the iPhone 3G lol so yea something odd this time around. It looks like the dates shown during the WWDC but with July '09 etc have all (not 100% if they all have) turned out to be dates and not not just a general reference to the month

Probably has to do with manufacturing limitations i.e. cannot manufacture enough units for a single day global release

That's incorrect. The slide shows "July '09", not "JUly 09". A lot of news sites are running the wrong dates.

I know the Slide said July '09 as I had stated above (I can't find the slides right now) but do the others match that dates on the slides.

Then again Australia wasn't on the list orginally but it is now

I'd say it was more what Vodafone did to piss them off so much - they must have perceived that the launch reflected really badly on Apple what with the uproar over their price gouging and heinous plan options.

Still, I look forward to seeing it on Telecom for a change, maybe the price will get better this time around with some competition.

From what I gather, Telecom aren't getting it

Vodafone are running an offer of a free iPhone docking station with every iPhone bought online with an iPhone plan. Offer ends 15/07/09...

http://www.vodafone.co.nz/iphone/index.jsp

Might (note MIGHT) be an indication that the 3G S will be released AFTER this date??

So when can we expect vodephone to put their prices down on the current 3g model. Before the 3rd gen iphone comes out or when it comes out?

Who?!

It's probably anyone's guess really, just have to wait and see but I imagine they'd announce the price for it at the same time they announce the pricing for the new one.

Didn't they do this a while back?  16GB down to 349 and the 8GB at 199 (both on 2yr 130 plan)

IIRC, the iPhone 3GS is the same dimensions as the iPhone 3G, so that can't be right.
