Dear all,

Anybody can help me to solve the subject problem as I will go to China next week using my H2210+P800 to check my email via GPRS.

However, I tried many many time in China before using BT dialup with H2210 and fail even I key in useername: cmnet and ps: cmnet in small or captial letter as well as keep in both in blank.

But using the above combination in Hong Kong is without any problem.

If using the configuration works in Hong Kong you'll have to find if your provider has a roaming agreement with a Chinese operator, and what's the configuration for this operator.

The better way to start is to contact your operator.

Hello Freitasm, thanks for your information.

However, to standalone using P800 with the GPRS in China is workable, the only problem is the dialup setting of the H2210 and the main point is even the customer servise of the Chinese Operater in China they did not have any idea of H2210 dialup setting.

Anyway, thanks lot!

If works on the P800, then the number *99***1# should work fine, but you probably need the APN number (selected by an additiona init string on your Pocket PC, like +CGDCONT=1,,"internet".

I've looked at China Unicom and China Mobile websites. China Mobile says something about GPRS, but not about connecting to it. Is this the operator you'll be using while there?

Ok, this is the latest:

China Mobile: *99#, init string must be +CGDCONT=1,"IP","cmnet"
China Unicom: *99#, DNS 10.000.002.100, init string must be +CGQREQ=1,3,4,3,0,0

More information on this file.

Wow, really thanks for your help as I will go to China tomorrow and be able to try the setting you advise. Yes, I'm using China Mobile.

Moreover, the init string +cgdcont=1,"IP","sgpr", "0.0.0.0" is what I'm using in Hong Kong(cgdcont and sgpr are in small letter).

Will post here the result if I got sucessful.

Hey people

I just got a P800 phone and I want to get a HP IPAQ H2210 or HP5550 Pocket PC, I would just like to get your advise on 1 or 2 things.

How well does the H2210 (or HP5550) internet connection throught the P800 GPRS work?
Secondly synchronization with MS Outlook, any known problems with that?

Thanks in adavance!
