Has anyone had any response from slingshot over the absolute crap performance recently?

I just did a speed test, using Slingshots speed test.

Download Speed: 834 kbps (104.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 125 kbps (15.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 110 ms

but at lunchtime I was downloading @ 500KB/sec

I think they have something wrong with the shaping software.

I haven't heard any comment from Slingshot on the current state of the network.

Maybe they have been to busy with other things, like the red network deal and the new telecom unbundled packages.

Download Speed: 1892 kbps (236.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 121 kbps (15.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 99 ms

and then normal again,

Download Speed: 4636 kbps (579.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 129 kbps (16.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 105 ms

It part of that trend of peaks and lows of service.

These issues are nothing to do with Telecom upgrades. They're caused by Slingshot shaping our connections.

Well next time you ring up slingshot do it when your by your modem and then restart it while your talking to them, and then when you try the internet after the restart  you can tell them it's still slow and see what they say then...?

Except it goes good for a few mins after you start the PPP connection, so it would "solve" it as far as a CSR on the phone is concerned, and IMO is trying to pass the blame to the cutomers gear which is why this is so bad.

Mind you tonight I torrented at over 300kBytes/sec so perhaps its sorted?
