we have just purchased a freeviewHD built in TV, and we cannot find the sky channel or the prime channel but only the freeview built in channels.

Any reasons and solution to this problem?

Urgent response would be appreciated.

"The sky channel"?
Hit home, and flick over to the right to the list of connections, whichever one you connected it to (probably video 1).

For prime also hit home, head to settings and scan for analogue channels. After thats done use home to access the analogue selection.

You are better off watching Prime through Sky. Rather pointless watching an analogue 4:3 feed on a widescreen TV when you can watch it in 16:9 on Sky.

Thankyou all for ur help but i found out how to work it myself. the sky customer service is so anoying and hard to understand..had to figure out everything myself...

Is SkyTv picture quality really that sh*t on HD tv? seriously i looked up online 'skyhd' so i can have better picture quality and found MySkyHDi, in order for my to recieve HD programming on my WTV subscribtion ($74 per month!!!) i have to upgrade to MySkyHDi, i have to pay additional $10 per month, that is absolute BULLSH*T, thats more than my monthly internet bill. Heck I might aswell unsuscribe from Sky.

We have used sky for atleast 5-7 years, our first monthly payment was around $60 now increased to $74, the picture quality seems to be better on my older tv than the new Full HD built in one....

How do you have your decoder hooked up to your TV? To get the best picture quality you need to be using a component cable bwteeen the Sky decoder and TV. If you aren't using component then you won't be getting the best picture quality.

And yes Sky's picture quality is only average, especially compared to the Freeview|HD channels.

Reading your original post again makes me thing that you're just using the RF outout from the Sky decoder rather than an AV input. If so this will result in the worst possible picture output from the decoder.

Sky's picture quality however is only average, especially compared to the Freeview|HD channels.

heres the order of my equipment, VRC is hooked up to tv, VRC is also joined with the sky decoder, then to be able to view the sky picture i connected the white red and yellow cable to the sky decoder and TV. then i just went on the tv and went to video 3 - cable, and viola sky tv, but the picture is kinda blurry

What model sky decoder? Motorola? Pace? Got a model number?
Ideally you want component, you're using Composite (yellow plug), which will look grainy. Make sure you set it to widescreen also in options. Call sky and ask for a scart > Component cable if your model supports it.

The bigger the TV, the blurrier the picture. That`s why HD TV was created, because normal resolution looks grainy on today`s big TV`s. You need to order My Sky HDi if you want good picture on a big TV. 600 bucks one-time fee I think, or 49 fee plus 15 bucks extra per month.

If honest work and justice are not enough - we'll get a lawyer.
