To me the answer is simple, the upgrade from the s9 for the s10 were G glass 6 and the hypersonic finger print scanner (big deal), but you lose what was a really good iris scanner.

The S10e gets none of those things, nada. It does get the guts of the s9, with a potentially weaker screen.

Probably the biggest upgrade is the S10e has the ultra wide angle camera, which actually is pretty beneficial if you're a shutterbug.

The s10e will get more future revisions of Android, support later in life.

The S10e has a flat panel screen with no curved edges, which some people seem to be very vocal about if that's your thing.

Both have amazing primary cameras.

Both have OneUI GUI. Both have stereo speakers.

This comparison might help you

Relative to the S9, the S10e has:

- wide angle camera

- brighter HDR screen

- faster processor

- Slightly larger batter

- no bezels

between the two, I'd pick S10e any day of the week: faster processor, more RAM, wide angle camera, slimmer/lighter/shorter/more compact while still having the same screen size and a larger battery, HDR10+, newer modern design, should get updates for a year longer.

And unless you are into VR, resolution isn't a limiting factor. No one is going to be able to tell the difference between 438ppi and 570ppi with the naked eye.
