Hi All,

I have been looking for a 9 digit number. Can anyone who has any 9 digit number not in use and wants to sell it, PM me, please?

Thanks.

Guess I may have to open a new account. And spend $40 for the cheapest on account plan. That’s fine. But I noticed that the plan will include one year Netflix. And if I transfer within 6 month from activation. I will be charged for another $60 for the Netflix promotion. Which breaks the deal. The total will go to $100.

Is there any way I can get rid of Netflix and port the number right after activation?

I have a 9 digit number. I wouldn't sell for $10,000; $50,000 maybe :)

Serious question, what’s the advantage of having a 9 digit number?

Feel like it’s easy to remember and kinda old school.

Oh you mean a six digit number like (021) 123 456?

Well I got mine in 1999 and kept it active on a prepay for ten years while I had an employer-provided phone.
Now it's back in full use. And it is an easy number to say and remember

The number will get returned to the pool when they pry my phone from my cold dead hands.
Unless one of my children claims it, of course 😊
Actually I might advise them to auction it off, it will, with any luck, be an antique rarity by then

Kind of a side question, but why is Vodafone the only one to issue the 9 digit (total length obviously) mobile numbers? 2degrees has 022 and Spark has 027, what is stopping them from issuing 022123456 or 027123456?

Also agree with the 021123456 type numbers being way easier to remember and recite, thanks to the GZ member who helped me get a real nice one several years back :P

Who cares how long a number is...

You know your phone has a contacts app right? Even more, you can say "hey google/siri, call bob"

Telecom also had 9 digit numbers 025 xxx xxx. When they moved to CDMA, it was setup as a new network as 027 xxx xxxx
Slowly but surely all was migrated over. Alas the mis-named 0274 network came in to being.
2degrees were a late player, so they kicked off with 022 xxx xxxx

I still have my six digit 021 number from 2000 😊 I don't know if there would be many of them left these days, and I imagine most of the good ones are probably gone by now.

I migrated to NZ in 2017 and was allocated a 9 digit number on my employer provided phone.

Should I feel special?
