Whenever I turn off my Dynamix UPS-650hp at the wall it emits a sharp sustained beep until I press the blue button on the UPS to turn the battery off.
So while tidying up my power cables today I switch the power off at the wall and it starts the sustained beep... and this time it won't turn off!
I think maybe it got overloaded somehow (though I didn't change what has always been plugged into it), but anyway this noise is driving me crazy! I have it in another room and I still need earplugs.
Anyone have any ideas how to stop this thing?? I don't care about rescuing the UPS to keep using it, I'll throw it away if it comes to that!

I'm going to take a sledgehammer to it soon. Ripping wires out has done nothing to stop the beep

Resorted to snipping the wires connected to the battery. Felt like I was diffusing a bomb! Peace and quiet at last :)

*chuckle*

I've learned over the years not to bother with cheapie UPS devices as they just cannot be replied upon for server protection.  I stick with APC or Eaton (or HP as they rebadge some Eaton products).

Dynamix are cheaper than APC for a reason ...
Get an APC UPS next time.

I bought a Dynamix from DSE and had trouble with my PC always losing power while plugged into it, brand new PC too!!! Not to mention the trouble I had trying to get my money back!!! Now I just use a surge protector and make sure I save anything I'm doing often!
