Hi all,

Having some internet issues. Around three hours ago my Fritz!Box resynced and I ended up going from 30down/10up to 1.9down/2.6up.

So nothing has changed internally, our wiring is still good from what I can see, that leads me to believe that it is the Chorus Cabinet with the issue.

Was wondering if anyone could help as Snap phone support just stuck me on a 12 hour wire test.

hmmm.. this looks very familiar....

when your fritz syncs at a faster rate, does it have alot of errors and subsequently disconnect?

does your line attenuation change between when your syncing at 30/10 and 2/2?

<- looks very much like when it happened to me. ... and geekzone is clipping images for no real reason now..

do a resync, and test the above questions.. your already DLM4 so its not like a resync is going to matter as much as it would on DLM1

Nope. My connection always had low error rates, less than 1.
I think I even had DLM1, I had "fast" latency, SNR of 12, INP off I think, etc.

I tried resyncing a couple of times and it's stayed low.

This is a new issue. We've had a perfectly fine connection with Snap for the past 8 months. I did the wiring (as we needed a special setup) and got it double checked by the Chorus techie when he came around during the VDSL install. We've got a VDSL filter installed in the master jack.

only refering to since the issue has cropped up.

reason i ask, is for me this happened because of two things.

firstly, a bad installation caused higher error rates. once resulted it helped a bit (clearly not the case for you.)

secondly, in the trip from the old place 5 mins down the road to this, somehow the fritz decided to cake it, maybe it was the different line conditions, but the fritz was not having it and had to be replaced.

upon testing (although snap had a few confusions with my fritz and confused results at first) snap confirmed there was something not right with that fritz and replaced it on the spot.

Oh right, I hope that the Fritz hasn't gone because I got it second hand last year while it was still in warranty, but it's an older model 7340.

To make things worse it now refuses to sync.

sounds exactly like mine..

keep an eye on the log, ill almost bet it will sync at 30/10 for a few seconds then drop out again.

mine was a 7390, so a direct swap. 7340 might be a challange since they are replaced with 7360s now.. maybe snap will have some 7340s laying around that they could swap out...

ild recommend getting your hands on someone elses modem to test with, that was my final test before sending my fritz away to be tested yet again.

Dan on here happened to live a slight drive away, and had one on hand for an install later that week, with his fritz side by side with mine it was pretty obvious one was terminal...

Darn, this sounds like it's going to be expensive if snap can't give me a replacement. I'm gonna try unplugging everything and leaving it for a while then plug it back in again since it hasn't resynced at all in the past hour.

in every comment, it pains me even more to see what i went through!

found it was best just to leave it syncing away, and eventually it would get that 2/2 connection... enough to use the internet and not depend on 3G..
