After reading another topic about a lost smartphone, who else is using Prey Project or Norton Mobile or any other tracking software on their device?

I have Prey in my laptop and wife's iMac and installed Norton Mobile Security on my HTC One.

Does anyone have any tale of recovered device?

Here is a couple of screenshots showing Norton Mobile Security locating my HTC One and capturing photos of the user (myself in this case):

I have just put Cerberus on my S4 and paid for the life time subscription which is hardly anything , massive range of features of being able to track and control your phone remotely.
The range of options is quite impressive actually.

Cerberus here too

Light weight, can be hidden and remain on the phone after factory reset (if phone is rooted)

I use lookout mobile security. Its easy, simple and seems quite light compared with other apps such as AVG and Mcafee that I have used. The 'locate my phone' is quick and simple to use.

Unfortunatly my handset isnt compatible with 'plan b' which lookout also make... (Xperia S LT26I).

The latest AirDroid 2 allows you to find your phone now. That's what I'm using. Well, I use Airdroid for its other features, but the find phone feature is an added bonus.

My wife left her HTC Sensation at the airport when she was picking me up once. We were able to track to to behind the café counter using Norton.

Only down side I've found is if tracking 1 phone from another phone you have to use a web interface that is definitely not mobile friendly.

I use Cerberus as well. Best tracking app I've come across so far.
Nice clean, simple web interface, and it just does what it says.
Highly recommended.

Just re: the laptop you say it is installed on. Is that using the internet to track it's location? Laptops generally don't have GPS. Thanks for the tip off, I got myself my first Android this app should be handy. :)

Also, if the phone crashed, how does one format it and reconfigure it? Or does that not happen with phones?

Edit - is a phone security lock not good enough?  Can they get around that and factory reset it?

No tales of a recovered device, but also a cerebus user - great app and cheap. Reliable so far.

I tested theftspy for a while @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.seiboldsoft.ssspy
Feature wise - it has it all, but I found it extremely buggy and still in beta. Some features working on some phones and not others. Not overly convinced with the developer or his methods. Cerebus is way better value.

The free version of seekdroid has served me well, but the extra features of cerebus, for the price, makes it easy to upsell.

Again, Cerberus here for myself and everyone i know. At least 5+ people i've got them to load it on their phone.

Clean, simple, does the job. No battery suck. No needing to run a bunch of pointless antivirus rubbish or some other service. No ongoing subscription. Option to disguise it as a system app. Root integration if you want it embedded right in the system to survive a factory reset.

Absolute top notch app.
