... but do Sky offer a package below the Basic one (e.g. just free to air?).

I would really like a package of just the kids channels but I guess that isn't going to happen!!

Sky does not offer any such package at the moment.

IGLOO will launch soon, which is probably what you are after :)

Hmmmmm, thought so ...

Igloo won't be via satellite, is that correct? Looks like Freeview with some DVD's then!

quickflix have just added a shedload of kids content to their lineup.

It's $16.99 per month. If your broadband connecton if better than 5Mbps and you have a decent datacap it's worth checking out.

They used to and I thought they still did offer the free to air for around $20 monthly.
Try asking them.
However Freeview HD is free if you have a freeview Tv and a Freeview satellite box + dish is pretty reasonable if not in an HD terresatrial area. Kids channels for free is never likely to happen.

On the Sky web site search the help for "holiday". You can downgrade to FTA and PPV channels for $18.70 per month, but personally I would rather go for FreeView via satellite plus Fatso for movies.

You can never have enough Volvos!

What's the difference between the Sky "Decoder Only" rental, and Freeview sat ? 'Cause I have the decoder only rental connected to a Tivo S1, which serves me well enough, plus I have the option of switching back to a Sky basic package ( + sports or movies should I choose).
Don't think I'm missing out on any channels ?

The difference would be the "rental" part. If you own the box, you don't pay rent.
