Hi,

I have atmospheric conditions on TV1 , tv2', and 3 all are HD channels

I flicked through prime, tv4, the box they are all fine.

I'm only on start up so no other HD channels to try.

Edit, It's come back on now.

A recordinging on the box got interupted yesterday lost 12 minutes lost signal, either my dish needs realigning or it doesn't like hot days, near 30 degrees. It was around 3pm Saturday.

As you mentioned, either the dish has moved and should be re-aligned, or the LNB is failing, which often shows up at temperature extremes. Ring Sky and let them know the problem.

Rang them. No signal when rang both decoders.

They got me to change the LNB frequency from 10.75 to 10.74

Got signal back on first decoder, second one still atmospheric.

Changed frequency second decoder, after off phone, signal came back on second decoder.

Told to monitor for 30 minutes, if plays up again a technican will be sent out.

Hmm, that's a bandaid fix and won't last long!

Basically, as the LNB fails, the L.O. frequency starts to drift out, and it gets worse with temperature extremes.

By altering the L.O. frequency in the decoder, you are matching (almost) what it has moved to, but it will likely be a downhill slide from here...

The proper fix is a replacement LNB.

Thanks. That was my guess of what they've done, short term fix, to get a little more life out of LNB so they can delay sending someone out.

They'll have to send someone out in end, but guess I'll have to wait till their fix stops working.

That fix could last anywhere from hours to months - only time will tell. It's a matter of when, not if, now!

Had an identical issue, identical support process too.
Tech came out and looked at the LNB, and said this generation was failing and due for replacement. Straight swap out and he was done in 15 minutes.

Similar problem, in full sun "atmospheric conditions...."    The LNB had tiny amount of water in it and it turned into a tiny dense cloud when heated and stopped signal.   New LNB fixed problem.   When the sky guy came the weather was overcast and all worked fine, but I had screenshots of the signal strength menu when hot to demonstrate.   Only when he examined the LNB did he see the few droplets on the clear cover and accepted the fault.   It was always a hot-sunny-afternoon fault.   Never at night.

Same issue - water ingress meant that the LNB failed when the afternoon sun heated it, and then recovered when the sun went off it.

Frequency change was what they made me do as well - and it fixed the problem for about 4 weeks. As soon as I mentioned the sun issue to the visiting tech he basically said "yep, water getting in, common problem" before he even looked. LNB replacement and all well again.
