Since data doesn't have to be in real time, I don't see a problem with wifi.

Really? So the only content willbe stuff sky has forced down to me? Makes me wonder if sky actually understand what 'on demand' actually means.
Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.
DrCheese: It's not clear to me if the older MySky/HDi box will work with the new Sky on Demand next year. This box has an ethernet port. SkyTV have only stated that the MySky+/HDi box will work. Any information about this?
David.
DrCheese: Mine's black, and has MySky/HDi on the front. I think it has a 160 GB drive.

0men: ive noticed some people asking questions about the new software update coming out for the mysky hdi and plus (silver mysky1 will be made redundant soon making room for mysky 3) so thought id share what i know so far. There are alot of new features coming mainly to do with internet and online streaming from the new library sky is compiling. the Ethernet port will be livened up and for those people with routers to far away for the max 5m Ethernet cable sky supply, sky is releasing wireless dongles and also Ethernet power plugs (to send data through power cables in the house back to the router). apart from the ip side of things all i know so far is there will be a new look to the menus and what not, 3 digit channel changing will be gone so you'll just enter the number you want and that's it. There will also be some new fault diagnostics for technicians. you'll be able to see hard drive running temp and rpm. if anyone wants to share any more info they have please do and as soon as i find out more ill update.
