Hey There,

Am new to the Dreambox thing but I was told that I can use a NZ45## Card with a Dreambox so I went ahead and bought a dreambox for my place when we go for holidays. I have a paid subscription but when I insert the card the screen remains black/blank. I have installed CCcam and NewCS but still no luck, I also get funny numbers when I go to Card Information (I think that means it reads the card?) and also have set Default Cam to CCcam and Default Card Sever to NewCS. Is there anywhere I am going wrong? Please help everything is welcomed.

try using SCAM. Should just work out of the box without any configuration.

hard to know then. There's quite a few threads here and on Austech about this. Maybe it just won't work for you unfortunately.

Make sure its a blue card gold does not work, forget cccam and newcs and try scam as stated above make sure download the configs for scam. I found scam caused glitching but oscam with the correct configs worked nicely. This was using a tm-twin engima 2 box.

Out of interest what model of dreambox are you using? Read somewhere if its a 500s then you need an external reader but something like a 800hd should be ok.

I am using a DM500s, I was told from the person whom I had bought it from that I needed to install something in it to get the card to work, how ever with newcmd installed I am able to read the card.

Not sure with the 500s but there are threads around about people using jcar readers or something like that.
