Got an email today from sky to say that I will be getting a software update next week in the early morning.
They don't say which day. I have had an Ethernet cable to my router for awhile in anticipation so I now wait with baited breath. If I read things correctly all should be well and I will only have to select "box office" on the remote and Bobs yere Auntie.

No email here either. But as soon as I get one I'm calling Sky to get my wireless connector, which they seem reluctant to sell me before I get the upgrade (whinged about this in another thread).

So it will be interesting to see how long it takes to roll this out across the country - anyone have insider knowledge regarding how many they are doing each week?

it is but on demand stuff you need an internet connection

and to get the skywifi dongle you need to have had your box upgraded

Yep, I should have clarified. My HDi is near the router, so Ill leave it till the upgrade then cable it. If I still have Sky... I will probably cancel Sport after F1 next weekend, but will hang on to see what developes. And price.

I got another email yesterday saying it was going to be loaded last night.

Got up this morning - it is there.

Much nicer looking - but still sluggish to respond. Guess there is only so much you can do.

On Demand stuff seems ok - some decent stuff in there. Haven't figured out if it shows in the normal planner once downloaded or if you have to go all the way into on demand, shows etc to watch.

Single HD episode of Brokenwood Mysteries is 1.2GB (it tells you, hooray!) - came down pretty quick on 100Mbps fibre.

Turned my MyBox on this morning and it displayed in glorious living black and white that a software update had taken place overnight. I haven't explored what variations in performance have occurred, but I will leave that for this afternoon.
I have noticed a different 'information' banner though.

Well silly me, here's thinking that because I subscribe to movies and sport in HD, then when I download from the new super dooper awful new interface it would be in HD quality that I am subscribed to. Well it's in fuzzy vision and if that floats your boat you are welcome to it. If Lightbox and Youtube can do it why can't Sky. What a waste of time!

So you have also ascertained there is no fault, that your BB is ok, checked the settings in the SVOD app to ensure there is nothing there?
So that what you see, everyone sees. Cool

So does everyone else see a HD picture? My connection to the Mysky box is fibre via Ethernet from my router.
Lightbox, Youtube, Netflix and err, Lightbox sport steaming PGA live and Golf pass to my tv via apps are just fine.
Please tell me what else I need to do to get a simple download from Sky in HD to my Sky box planner.
I have a 50" CX700 ultra HD Panasonic tv and the picture for anything else is great.
