Yesterday I got the email from sky & forced the update today. The font is certainly bolder but I never had a problem reading it on my 65" TV. I don't know what other changes they've made as yet.

I think they've taken it too far, the font is now BOLD and black.
But it does seem snappier in general use for me.

Cheers,
Joseph

I got the update last week; seems snappier in places and worse in others and in general speed is quite poor.  Hate the new font though, but I was one of the people that didn't have an issue with the grey on grey shades they used... Looked nicer and much more modern.

Is it just me , or does the font type , seem blury at times to anyone ?.. I am not saying the actual screen goes blury at all , but the human eye and this particular font , cause seeing your eyes to cause blurriness at times?

I def would not say its snappier , as I am sure they have not updated the Planner side at all yet ?

Yay someone else has noticed the blurryness to. My mrs says its fine with her so I was beginning to think it could be my eyes. To me it's a bit fuzzy like around the font edges. Weird when looking at it for to long especially looking at the program guide.
Still could be my eyes lol.

You sure you're not confusing the fact that they're not doing any anti aliasing with the font, therefore the font edges look jagged as opposed to blurry

It's like they have no UI specialists at Sky, not surprising really

Revolting on my 65 inch tv. wish could pick old one as way better than this forced rubbish.

Glad moving back to the vodafone boxes are this would have been last straw to ditching sky.

It looks like they are rendering it without antialiasing at a low resolution, and then badly scaling it to 1080p or something. Add in TV processing and yeah, pretty horrible. That is why TV's are not monitors ;)

and now i find the favourite button wont work unless you bring up the channel your on first and then the blue button will work, used to just push the blue button now an extra step , They just seem to make it less simple to use.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Tried to force the update on my SKY HDi but the press of Select and Back buttons together while box is powered on does nothing. Worked OK the last time I did it!

Mmmmm.

I don't like how can't use i button to cycle the information off, you have to use back button to close it and as my box is a little slow sometimes I have to press back a couple of times to close information and sometimes it works first time so the subsequent back changes channel.

Why can't 1s be an option for banner display..

Got the new update this morning, scrolling through planner is painfully slow!

Not liking the new font either..
Really missed the old firmware, would trade the new on demand stuff for stability and snappyness any day.

I don't know why Sky just didn't adopt Foxtels User interface. They use the same MySky/IQ boxes and offer a few variations of User interface choices.

A previous comment earlier about Sky obviously having no UI specialist is totally correct.

Something to check : Guess where you find the power save option on the mysky/Kaon boxes ?. Previous to this major upgrade it was found in the settings menu
.. guess where it is now!...
