Hey all

I was browsing the UK iTunes Store the other day and noticed that Sky UK have an iPhone / iPod Touch app whereby you can access your Sky+ (their equivalent to MySky) EPG and planner, giving you the ability to remotely set your unit to record etc.

I know Sky have hinted that they intend to introduce some kind of remote access functionality for MySky, but has anyone heard anything more solid? Hopefully the threat of TiVo (if threat is the right word) will spur some innovation from Sky to keep interest in MySky up.

Steve

Foxtel have been able to do this since IQ (the MySky equivalent).  Sky have been promising this for ages, but as yet have delivered nothing   Undecided Yell

If Foxtel have this in place I think it would take little for Sky to activate it here... or at least I hope soWink

one would think so, but:

Proper red button functionality - Foxtel YES,  Sky NO
Sky News Active - Foxtel YES, Sky NO
Sky/Fox Sport Active - Foxtel YES, Sky NO
Remote Record - Foxtel YES, Sky NO

way way behind the eight ball really, and Foxtel's service isn't even that great.  Fox have had all these services for at least 15 months.

Crikey - 'proper' red button and sky news active have been available in the UK for around 10 years. Certainly they were well advanced when I left the UK in 2000.

This was mentioned in the December Sky magazine but nothing came of it. I emailed Sky a couple of weeks ago about it and got the reply that it is being looked at but there is no time frame for it. It is known as remote record. Old thread about it here:

This would be a magnificent feature to add to mysky.

Cheers,

Matt.
