Is it my imagination or is Sky limited to certain movie libraries? What I mean is that there are many old movies that never seem to appear on Sky, so I wondered if there are certain movie studios that Sky either doesn't, can't or won't purchase from.

Typical movies are Dave, Last Starfighter, Coming to America, Big, Antz, Outbreak, Enemy Mine, Grand Canyon, Da Vinci Code, Red October, Silence of Lambs, Memphis Belle.

Anyone know if I'm correct?

Or, is it that some Sky Administrator has just determined that kiwis are gonna see what he (or she) wants to show and if we don't like it - then tough?

Coming to America was on a few weeks ago, on C4. (they are showing a lot of classic 80s comedies)

I remember watching Silence of the Lambs not too long ago either, definitely some time this year. Not sure what channel though.

I hear what your saying tho, I find they put the movies on very tight rotation so it feels like there is a limited selection
I'd like to see them change sky movies 2 back into movie max and mix it all up

Yeah, it sure seems like a tight rotation, so tight it only seem they've got about 100 or so movies. It's getting to the point where we're talking about dumping Sky. Damn shame there's no competition for those guys.

C4 is owned by Mediaworks (Canwest) who also own TV3. Sky do not own C4, but merely re-broadcast it.
C4 is available on UHF, Freeview Terrestrial, Freeview Satellite and TelstraClear Analogue and Digital Cable TV. C4 was originally TV4.

Well, how about that!........Shucks, I never noticed C4 on my Freeview tuner, probably because I hardly ever use it. Thanks for that :-)
