As part of Sky's carriage of TVNZ 6/7 plus regional TVNZ One channels they need to resolve a SID conflict between a number of their channels and the freeview transmissions.

Their service table has just refreshed with the following changes

OLD NEW Channel
1035 1053 SM Greats
1036 1054 SKY Sport H/L's
1037 1055 Prime
1038 1056 Prime

They have also updated some of their interactive services
624 607 Grooves
680 681 MIND GAMES
678 679 PLAYIN TV GAMES
679 680 WEATHER

Until some of the EPG feeds have been updated selected channels might not have a full weeks worth of data.

The 1035-1038 SIDs are currently used by TVNZ's freeview service

Yes.

No changes other than Service ID (SID)

would this have something to do with other threads popping up where people are having trouble with sky tv?

How does regional TVNZ1 work over DVB-S?

adamj: How does regional TVNZ1 work over DVB-S?

Remember how the freeview box asks you where you're located?  What you answer to that question decides what feed of TV1/TV2 the freeview box delivers.  On Sky it's handled by bouquets (different bouquet for different areas of the country.. What bouquet you have decides what version of TV1/TV2 you get.. resulting in the correct regional advertising).

Of course if you have a non-freeview box you'd need to manually select which version of TV1 or TV2 to view.

Isn't that a major waste of transponer space?

Likely, but with broadcasters trying to get the most for advertisers these days its a logical step.
