Yes it does that. From all reports including mine, its not working well. Quality is less than average, and many programs are out of sync and losing frrames. The Nigella program was in sync, but still looses frames.

Given the high quality of my experience with Sky, and the satisfactory other on demand providers, I am sure they will sort it out. After all, it is beta

How did you get an invite to the Beta program?  is it just out of the hat or can you request one?

Thanks

A

Just tried this out. Disappointing. Hope they don't release it without fixing it first. Its very jerky. No comparison with TVNZ on demand.

You have to wonder why they choose not to use 'Smooth Streaming' on IIS. It supports PC, Mac, iPhone, Windows Phone, etc. I use it on my Xbox to watch movies from the Zune store. Even on a slow connection it doesn't pause etc - quality justs adjusts accordingly.

I'm sure Sky have their reasons, but right now it seems they have made bad some bad technology choices somewhere along the way...

It should be better. isky is a pay for service. TVNZ is 100% free.

I wouldn't call a SOE owned and funded by all tax payers regardless of whether they want the service or not "free".

TVNZ made a $26 million dollar loss last financial year.

Bold statement, have you got some in the know at Sky to confirm this?

Well let me rephrase that then, to the non tax paying people its free. isky is not free for anybody, you need to have a sky subscription to be able to watch.
