I watch all my TV through mysky, and mostly NOT live. Just recently I have noticed that TVOne news is displaying subtitles which initially I thought was fair enough, but now it seems to be on other TVone programs. Has anyone else noticed this recently and do you know how to switch it off? Is it a setting on mysky or on my TV?
To switch off on MySky HDi: *temporarily, hit the Setup key and toggle Closed Captions with left/right arrow *permanently( and can then be switched on temporarily as above) by going into the Active menu, find the setup options and it's under screen/display settings (menu item names may not be accurate but it's somehting like that anyway, you'll find it).

Yeah, I recall being intrigued by it some time ago and looked up what it meant, even though having it on or off made no difference back then. The 'caption' bit I could understand, this extract wikipedia goes someway to explaining it:
Zippity: I noticed the subtitles come onscreen the other day. I thought that I must have bumped the remote.
Guess it was due to one of those automatic updates :(
To restore normality, just go into the setup and hide the offending beast.
What happens sometimes is someone goes in to try closed captions, and, when nothing happens, they don't turn them off again. Some time later SKY start sending the data and your decoder obliges.
