Please let me know what my decoder settings should be for apartment in Taupo. My sister unplugged my decoder and now comes up rain fade have rang sky there settings do not work.
Lnb: on - duel - 10750 - 156.0 east etc the standard follow through the menu.

We had this problem when we moved in over a year ago and paid them to come out the guy was here for about 4 minutes and clicked through some pages and had it going so obviously the sky help desk is missing something?

Also our page is a funny purple colour unless we change the settings in scart to componet - composite. is this correct for a basic sky decoder straight to tv connection.

Have googled a lot of info and seems like we might need to turn the 22KHz setting to none but there is no option for this.

We have tried the 11300 settings as well as these seem to be for apartments but no luck.

Can we change anything else - we have code for advanced menu etc.

Unplugging the STB will not cause any setting changes. Is it plugged back into the right socket? The STB has an "in" and an "out" for the dish.

Component video can be either RGB or YPbPr, your TV will support only one of the two. Setting to the wrong one will have the effect you are talking about. Also, over SCART you also have an s-video and composite video connection, which will also screw up the picture if you get it wrong.

Furthermore, the STB probably has 2x SCART connectors, one for TV and the other for VCR. The VCR connector has an input that feeds through to the TV when (I think) the STB is switched off. So the two connectors are not the same pinout. Confirm you have the TV connected to the TV connector, which will give the best options available (VCR SCART might not support all the options, as it is intended only for VCRs).

There is also a chance the coax connector got damaged, but less likely.

Get a new sister ;-).

Thanks played around with the scart settings changing pretty much all of them with different LNB settings and ended up working when i changed the composite to s-video and then changed the LNB to duel 11300. Told my sister I had to get the tech guy out today and would cost her around $130 just to let her sweat a little.

its not that hard getting the correct lmb settings. I took our sky decoder away with us and used it at the motel we stayed at, unplugged thier freeviewbox and plugged the skydecoder in, it only took me a couple minutes to guess the lnb settings for the shared dish feeding all the rooms.
