With all this praise, you could be forgiven for thinking Lightbox have just split the atom. In reality, all they have done is provided base functionality, late.

But then, late is better than never, I guess.

Excuse me if this has already been answered but does the chromecast count as one of the devices or is it just the device you are casting from?
Samsung Note 8 works perfectly but the show buffers like crazy and freezes when i try to cast it.

I gave it a good test yesterday, and had some programs freeze/pause, and they weren't able to be unpaused. It seem to happn more after I had turned off the casting devices wifi, even though the chromecast should continue to cast afterward. I was wondering if the device always needs to be connected. It would be a bit of a pain if it does, but imagine it maybe due to copyright and so you can only cast on one device at a time.

As far as I am aware , it is the device it is casting from. Infact checking my devices, the TV doesn't show up, just the device(eg ipad)I haven't tried casting to two chromecasts at the same time via the same device, but imagine it may come up with an error to say that it only allows one stream per device.

Chromecast works great for me from an iPhone, going to test the wife's iPad tonight.

Just a note as well that the Play/Pause functions through HDMI-CEC work with Lightbox aswell, not all Chromecast apps work with this.  Good to see it was included, it greatly increases the WAF.

Anyone know if there is a way to setup a playlist or queue programs. If not, is this a planned feature in the future? I can see there is a watchlist, but that doesn't seem to be tied to anything.

True, but still good to have it at long last.  It's taken Lightbox's functionality from 3/5 to 4/5 for me.

I get the same thing on my Huawei Honor 6 running stock 4.4.2. Is there any debugging we can send?

All good now. The problem has completely disappeared, which makes me think it was a configuration problem on my part rather than anything wrong with the lightbox chromecast capability.
So happy with the result that i will give up trying to watch the stuttery Lightbox on any of my PCs and will get another chromecast.

What would it take to get it to 5/5? For me it would be more content, and ability to add playlists, or queue programs.

To be fair, LB had added stuff from day one. This is NZ, I imagine at this early start of the streaming TV phenomenon, that the numbers would be low. If this was a large large country, you could throw dollars at it as the megabucks from high numbers grew the revenue. Thats my personal opinion.

For me it would be automatically queueing up the next episode like Netflix and a properly integrated xbox app.

If you've not seen it, xbox (both 360 and one) has a tv/movie storefront thing. I always assumed this just shows content available from Microsofts Xbox Video service. Turns out it actually shows everything across all services available on xbox in your region - xbox video, netflix and quickflix. If a movie or tv series is available on multiple services it just asks you which one you'd like to watch it on and it opens in the appropriate app. This feature might make using multiple services a bit easier.

Lightbox:
old3eyes: Tested it last nite with my nexus 4 and it worked well.  Can't say I'm impressed with the picture quality compared to Google movies  and Youtube.  Seems to all be in SD  and SD that reminds me of SD on Sky  Mpeg 2..

We go all the way to 9Mbit and 1080p, so it's either the content you're watching or your specific setup.

My wifi speed tests up to 14Mbit  on ADSL2 .  I assume  The Vikings is in HD  but it looked more SD to be .  Yep some of the other stuff i was testing on would be SD .  Not sure if there are any settings  in the App or the Chromecast but will look and see. As I said Play movies look good in HD.  Have not tested Netflix yet on the Chromecast.

Went back last nite and did some comparison testing  with NZ Netflix on the Chromecast .  The stuff that was in common looked about the same  the main difference what that Netflix was in DD5.1 and LB in stereo..

Regards,

Old3eyes

Ok most annoying issue ever!, when chromecast was used for previous episode its impossible to select the last episode of the season as the chomecast popup at the bottom covers the episode play button!

Cheers, we've already caught that one and will get it sorted.
