Finch: Has anybody tried this on a ADSL connection? Sadly where I live I cannot get anything better, until 2019 supposedly, unless I move :)

What was your experience?

Thanks.

Yes I have.  I'm on Slingshot ADSL unlimited here in Greenlane Auck, getting around 15-16Mb/s on good days and Fanpass worked pretty well for me.  I used the free promo code over the weekend of the 2nd Bledisloe Cup game in Auck and it worked pretty well.  There were a few minor pauses/stutters, but nothing long enough to ruin it for me IMO.

The quality I got was A LOT better than the dodgy 'free' streams.   However, as some have mentioned in this thread previously, depending on how you watch it and your set up, it's never going to be as good as watching actual HD content from your mySky HDi.  But I personally thought it was more than adequate for me (as someone who doesn't have a sky connection at all) and would happily get fanpass again later for a game I want to watch.

Any official word or even rumours about a Rugby World Cup pass yet?

Would be nice to get a bundle discount instead of paying for 7 weeks worth, plus the on-demand replays if I miss a game is essential here with the time zone (which is not available on the weekly passes)

Maybe that will be a late to the party offering, otherwise it might reduce new subscriptions for the RWC

My country is set to NZ, not using any VPN.

use 64 9 xxx xxxx

Assuming you are in Auckland. That is the international way to dial a number.

If it won't take that try +64 9 xxx xxxx

Has anyone seen anything about a possible package for the RWC?

SheriffNZ: Has anyone seen anything about a possible package for the RWC?

I sent them a support email asking this, they eventually replied with a standard response pointing me to the daily or weekly passes

I believe ITV (uk) is streaming all RWC games off their websites.

If you were able to use a VPN / Smart DNS website you might be able to access those feeds...

Ah yeah I could but I don't mind paying for the convenience and decent picture quality of Fanpass, though I do wish it had a RWC package especially for on-demand replays

Yes, that first game is going to be a killer as the replay would seriously cut into work time so I'm probably going to have to watch it live....

I don't disagree with you here, I would likely pay for this.

Sky won't show their cards as to whether they will be providing something over the Fanpass platform until the last minute (expect something tomorrow night) as they want to get he max number of subs that they can (at which point they will say its because they are such a nice company and responding to "overwhelming demand").

If they don't, then I'll just find coverage elsewhere.

Remember Sky is clutching at keeping their inefficient business model alive here.

Note: I don't like Sky and I believe companies with their attitude are hindering innovation in the game of life.
