True, but users with gamepass etc would still be a small subset of total viewers. Those services are designed for mobile device watchers not TV watches as in the US the big sports have their own TV networks as well as the local cable provider.

As an aside you can't actually get NFL gamepass in the US or Canada.

I just remembered something I forgot in my earlier post. There is a new(ish) standard around DVB-H, -SH and IPDC, although not sure how up-to-date companies are here with support for those standards.

Well I can tell you that I know a lot of people that use their iPhones and iPads to access the NFL Gamepass and MLB At Bat apps for watching those sports.  Having an NFL game playing on an iPad sitting on my desk at work on a Monday morning is totally fine to view as I'm less than a foot away from it.

Also, having travelled extensively in the US, the NFL catchup app and the MLB At Bat app are used alot by people I know in the States (and they are not overly techy people) - especially since the MLB app is on aTV, PS3, Roku etc. and the NFL apps can be airplayed to aTV.

Long story short - don't underestimate how often people stream sports to their mobile devices - in fact I did this at my inlaws on Sunday arfo in order to watch the end of Game 3 of the World Series (had watched most of it at home before having to leave in the middle of the 6th).
