Not really as there are large parts of the Country not due for UFB for quite some time, I'm in Urban Auckland and we're not on the radar (nothing on Chorus past 2016).
I also do not trust TV distribution at present, just look at the mess Premier League Pass is making of English Premier League; that is via the internet only and the performance is so variable! I do not think the CDNs or infrastructure is there yet and I certainly can't imagine Sky moving wholesale across for years to come.
I was told arond the time that Sky had their famous outage (around 3 or 4 years ago) that they would use Optus D3 as a backup incase there was a hiccup on Optus D1. Sky have been installing dual lnbs since at least 2007 which can be used to seamlessly switch reception from D1 to C1/D3 i.e.satellites at 160 and 156 degrees. Perhaps Freeview NZ should book extra satellite capacity for the future to provide for more channels and definitely HD CONTENT which is sadly lacking and not available FTA to rural NZ.
