NBR has article, saying the app will be available on Friday. Hopefully they fix all the broken links on the site before then too

myopinion: Googled it...try this link guys and let me know:

https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/sky-go-nz/id767698707?mt=8

Well spotted. If its a Friday release (and why not say that on the website in full view) then the app is all ready to go but they removed searchability till Friday? Makes sense.

Yatey,
I guess if people in NZ were more honest they wouldn't have to restrict the number of devices.

Though this is good in theory, they will still get the same issues as streaming on other wifi networks will still have problems with slowness etc. Try running a game in a motel/backpackers establish and see how much buffering you get.

And no doubt they will get a stack load of complaints the first time someone gets their mobile bill after using it for the first time.

IMO no excuse these days not to be able to manage usage, the Telcos all have apps for that purpose

Sweet!

Now the $64000 question....What is the quality like in terms of clarity. Is it sharp? is it smooth?

Irregardless of the rego issues raised, for me, clarity and smoothness is the minimum requirements for use, otherwise it gets shelved except for "I am away, I must view this now" scenario

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

langers1972: Really annoying that we VF/TCL users have been left in the cold, we can't even use an app ;o)

Really? Why not? I thought it was over 3G,4G,wifi, and by a desktop or iOS device

Because we're not direct Sky customers so can't use the Sky apps (AFAIK) as we don't have a decoder card to link the account to so I pay for Sky Basic but can't access any of the bells and whistles

Worth checking that as my MySkyHDi doesn't have a card but in the settings IIRC there is a serial or rego number which I used to create an account at sky.co.nz and iSky

Surely they would not have released a feature that is restricted from a Telco that has a direct relationship with Sky, cannot see that at all.

It's about as good of as SD gets. Looks fine on iPhone 5S, iPad 4 only OK but still very watch-able. Very smooth, not that sharp.

Tks for the feedback. If I had to choose between sharper or smoother, I'd go for smoother, I so hate jerky video, so it seems it may be ok. I recall when I was ""trying" to read FAQ (as links went to other FAQ) they adjust quality for the connection speed. Is there an option to manually adjust that? And worth testing when all other internet devices are switched off to maximise throughput.

Question: If I had 4 internet devices such as phone, tablets, laptops that were online, but not being used, does that affect throughput or the connect rate on the device I am using for Sky Go?

Sky have no comprehension of how good SD can get.

2 devices is a bit light. In a four person flat, that doesn't really help much. I guess as the account holder, I can just register my laptop and phone (once android is available) and not tell the others :)

two devices. haha they're having a laugh, I have 3 devices (phone, ipad, macbook) by myself, then there is my parents iPad, not to mention my sister's macbook and phone. bit of a step back from no device limit but only being able to watch on one at a time.
