Just bear in mind the did recorder you quote doesn't have a hard drive so you are going to need rewritable disc's to record to. There are probably heaps of second hand hard drive recorders with analogue tuners available now ( can't use tuners as previously stated but can record analogue output from sky decoder). If you get something like my old Panasonic eh65 it even has scart inputs.

Good advice. A recorder with a hard drive is much more useful than without, and Panasonic is a good make (I have a couple). If you see one of the older models going cheap second hand (since you can't use and don't need the digital tuner in the current models), in your position I would grab it.
You could use a series 1 Tivo, use the Sky box for the tuner. S1 Tivo will oniy accept Ccompsite or SVHS (S-Video) connections - no SCART or Component. EPG will automatically book programs. You then use an app called TyTool to copy the programs from the Tivo to your local PC. SD quality only, but pretty acceptable enough.
Easier just to use a Panasonic DVD recorder if that's what you want to do. You can copy the files off over the network using an appropriate DLNA client.
The speed is, however, a bit pitiful - although it works, I get about 1 MB/sec when I try this. And no, the network isn't the limiting factor. For that reason, I tend to move material off it to my PC using DVD-RWs.
