BigpipeNZ thanks. Just went and brought one, was the last one saw on shelf at Noelleemings.

Have plugged in and done internet test on PS3, showing same speeds as ethernet cable so looking promising.
Was getting buffering on lightbox wifi to it, and as in different room was going to be a pain having to unplug cable every night.

As soon as plugged in second plug the home light lit up, so it configured all by its self.

Hope a new thing comes into the shops that does same thing, as I know some people they'll make good presents for, they were asking me for a wifi extender, but this looks way better.

Can't get it to work with windows 7, unidentfiied network, maybe thats way discontinued.

Oh well save a cable run to PS3.

So far so good :-)

I ordered these from Mighty Ape yesterday, and have just finished setting them up.

Here are the before stats, using my 2.4Ghz wifi

And here are the after stats, using the powerline adapters

As a side note, we were able to successfully use Lightbox last night over our crappy wifi, but this was with the PS3 app. I didn't try the PS4 one, so can't inform as to whether it would've performed OK.

Nice k to M conversion!

I'd like to do that, but sleepot is on its own cable, not linking to any in house power points. I could i guess get a power point cintalled in my PC room from that cable? Plus its on same wall as the fuse box thingie.

Are there any gotchas for Powerline, such as flouro lights, using power tools. I assume and hope that the garage cable goes only from fuse box thingie to garage (two double plugs and two fluoro) andsleepout , 2 double plugs

I might go down the ethernet route though. I bought 35m, although thats not relevant. The cost of ethernet, 3 x faceplates and more cable and an electrician, will be more expensive than 2 powerline plugs, but not largely so. More stable too. But I am glad that as you cannot use ethernet you got such a huge result.

I will run this past teh sparky though as my sleepout, whuich is the main issue is a single cable from fusebox to sleepout so its likely to be ideal for Powerline

Yeah, ethernet is the Holy Grail for us too, but not achievable right now. We may be in a position to do it with some planned work in future, but it all depends on cost. Ideally I'd like the whole house to be wired. But for now I'm very happy with this as a stop gap measure (assuming initial tests are indicative of ongoing performance).

Re cost, I am wondering if it would be that expensive to have cabling run. I was goiong to do it DIY, up the corner wall, bead that and pain match, get in the ceiling, and down the living room corner, bead that, paint match, and out the back of home to sleepout.

But, if the ethernet can be run by an expert, and follow existing power cables to avoid time spent on an auger, the labour hours could well be quite low. Say 3 hours?

Would it be possible to add some logic that resets the resume time to 0 when the program ends? Our daughter watches a few programs on repeat and with the new feature if you start something you have watched previously it starts at the end of the program.
