wasabi2k: I got another email yesterday saying it was going to be loaded last night.

Got up this morning - it is there.

Much nicer looking - but still sluggish to respond. Guess there is only so much you can do.

On Demand stuff seems ok - some decent stuff in there. Haven't figured out if it shows in the normal planner once downloaded or if you have to go all the way into on demand, shows etc to watch.

Single HD episode of Brokenwood Mysteries is 1.2GB (it tells you, hooray!) - came down pretty quick on 100Mbps fibre.

Agreed, got my update overnight too, like the look but a little sluggish in places to respond. Just downloaded an episode of Blackadder (30 mins episode) in 6 mins on my 47/10 vdsl connection over wifi. Will try something in hd later. Must say there was more than I expected on demand and I don't have movies or sport.

Checked my e-mails but did not receive any via that method.
However a SMS (text message)was received some time yesterday. Have configured settings again to where I prefer them.

We are doing it in waves over the next couple of months.
Everyone will get an update at some point, and no we can't bump people to the top of the list.

I wonder how they selected the waves. Obviously didn't considering delivering the update to their long time loyal customers first. Typical Sky.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Wonder why the limitation on how many can be upgraded at once.

Think could do all in one night, with just one download and all decoders receiving at once.

Pretty sure when get firmware and window updates doesn't take two months to make available to everyone on other devices.

Imagine the chaos if the update 'broke' hundreds or even thousands of units at the same time. I can hear the howls of outrage from everyone about how they pay big $$$ to Sky and now they can't watch it!

I feel Sky are being responsible with a gradual roll out where the number of potential issues are kept to a level that can be handled quickly if they occur.

We've had Sky satellite since it's very beginnings as a 5 channel analogue service. No update here either but I'm fine with that...

It's unsubstantiated speculation on my part but given Sky's track record with streaming I'd say they would be concerned about that many subscribers hitting the on demand servers at once.

The SKY Link device I requested arrived yesterday so I decided to update my box manually. The new interface looks good, although it takes a bit of playing around. The On Demand offerings look a bit limited at the moment but there is still plenty of stuff there that I will watch and considering it's all free (well, "no extra cost on top of your monthly subscription") I'm quite happy with it - I'd have to give Sky a "thumbs up".

Been using the upgraded interface for a few days now - seems slightly faster than old.  Don't particularly like the colour scheme, pity there are no alternatives in settings.  Yet to explore the on-demand offerings

Well if you think it is slightly faster than the old interface then your stop watch is due for a service. When you get to check the
"offerings" you will enjoy the On Demand movies in fuzzy vision no matter what your current plan is, that goes for sport as well. The only way to get any HD is to fork out another $7.00 for Box Office over and above your already very expensive subscription. Do hope you enjoy this very generous free upgrade from Sky.
