GeorgefromLightbox:MikeB4:
Hmmm are you changing from Silverlight? that may affect the odds.
We're already transitioning away from Silverlight. The Chrome and Firefox players have already gone to HTML 5...
@GeorgefromLightbox so what does this mean for the prospect of Lightbox on Xbox One?
Being totally open here, whilst I reeeeeally want a LB app for Xbox One...I don't think we'll get one this year. I have pushed for it but there are bigger priorities in the pipeline.
Goddam that pipeline.

That's a shame, but thanks for letting us know.
I will, of course, keep you all posted if something looks likely! I'm the first on that train when it leaves town
My partner and I have been Netflix users ever since it was released in Australia, and Stan as well while we were still in Australia as it doesn't exist in NZ (we moved back to NZ in Dec). We always used both Netflix and Stan through their Xbox One apps. A couple of months ago we signed-up to Lightbox to replace Stan as our new Netflix alternative and also to watch The Handmaid's Tale... then went to install the Xbox app only to find there wasn't one. Then we discovered we couldn't even use Lightbox through the Xbox Edge browser. We're not going to plug in a laptop every time we want to watch TV. We immediately cancelled our subscription as it was completely useless to us.
I'm curious - is there really such a small market of Xbox One users? To me it feels like a big mistake not to prioritise an Xbox One app but maybe I am part of a minority? We looked into it and NEON doesn't have an Xbox One app either so maybe there is a reason. My 70 inch UHD TV doesn't have any smarts, we use Xbox One for absolutely everything. I guess whoever comes up with the Xbox One app first is the one who gets our money!
Meanwhile we will stick with Netflix and YouTube.
I should stop being cheap and just fork out for Chromecast. $60 isn't that bad and I will probably cave in.
I guess it just feels so weird to have a big gaming console that can do all these things but instead have to buy a specific device just for streaming tv.

Is there likely to be an Android TV app in that pipeline?
Just adding my voice to the hope that there will be an Xbox Lightbox app to make my viewing of Lightbox easier. Please?!
(Plus Xbox rhymes with Lightbox- another good reason!)
