It took me a while to find that note. Must be some specific issue(s), works ok here on 8.0.

Is it just me?  When I go to Lightbox on Edge, I see "you've found some vintage tech" and makes me change to IE11...which is annoying because I always forget to go to Lightbox with IE11.

It shouldn't say that any more. Can you send a screenshot?

Any issues at the moment? Got into the app using a PS3 but it's very stop-start and buffering every 20 seconds.

@Paul1977 - no, he's meaning concurrent streams. You can now pay for Premium which lets you stream 4 at once (rather than 2 on the Standard plan).

Thanks @GeorgefromLightbox I understand about the 2 vs 4 concurrent streams, but are plans still limited to a maximum of 5 registered devices?

E.g. 4 concurrent streams would certainly be enough for most families; but that family might have 3 TVs, 4 phones, and 2 tablets - so might need 9 devices registered.

Their web page suggests that the 5 device limit still exists even with premium. This restriction seems totally stupid to me and is a total turnoff for premium. Why pay for 4 streams when you only have 5 devices to choose ?

It seems really dumb to me.

@Paul1977 & @Handle9 - 5 devices at any one time. You can have 12 devices per year, and they roll out automatically 'FIFO' (First In, First Out) on login.

@GV27 - Unfortunately PS3 is, to quote @eracode, flaky. It's a very old bit of kit and by far the slowest in our supported device range. :(

If I have devices 1 - 6, and I rotate them, will I be able to rotate them indefinitely, or just twice per year?

Hmmmm

At least 2 people use Edge.  At least 1 person likes it!

Why does this restriction exist? It is not common for content providers in streaming and is totally nonsensical is you are promoting 4 simultaneous streams.

I agree. In our 2 person household we have 6 devices that one of us may want to watch on at any given time. 2 TVs, a PC, 2 phones, and a tablet.

Limiting the number of streams is surely enough to prevent people abusing the system by sharing login credentials?

Limiting the number of registered devices, on the other hand, only serves to unnessecarily restrict how customers can access the service.

@GeorgefromLightbox I hope you will pass these concerns onto the relevant department.

Not uncommon:

Stuff Pix: https://www.stuffpix.co.nz/terms-privacy-policy 5 devices

STAN Aus: https://www.stan.com.au/terms 6 devices, 1 removed every 30 days

iFLIX: https://www.tm.com.my/unifientertainment/Pages/assets/pdf/iflix%20FAQ.pdf

Quickflix: https://www.quickflix.co.nz/Terms

All basically the same, give or take. The ones that don't are Netflix & Amazon, because when you're a $6b+ company (in the case of Netflix) you can make whatever deals you like.
