openmedia:
I'm still able to get a full EIT dump off Sky Transponder 12519000
So how are you doing that? Using epgsnoop on 12519000 only gives me now/next for Discovery (I have not checked any of the other channels affected).

Sorry you're quite right. I didn't look down into individual channels.
Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.
I'm using MediaPortal with EPG Collector and the guide is still OK. This has been a problem with the HD channels since forever so just looks like they will need to be treated the same.
On a related note it looks like the streams are still SD but using 8Mb/s using H.264. When I compare that to a full HD channel they are also using 8Mb of bandwidth using H.264 but at 1080i.
Would this resolution, despite the same bandwidth, just be due to the transponder still using DVB-S rather than S2 or is it more likely just a financial decision from Sky?

I havn't studied them yet but was told by a Sky person that with the sd to mpg4 channel upgrade it should show a slight improvment in video quality. Won't be noticable to most people.. the DVB S2 upgrade is coming later in the year.

What setup are you using for EPG Collector? I have tried it and get the same results as with epgsnoop, for EIT data. When I tried it a couple of days ago getting OpenTV EPG from 12519000 (the only transponder with OpenTV data AFAIK), then it was getting about one day of EPG for Discovery. But I just tried it again, and it is reporting 257 programmes for Discovery, so that looks like it is one week again. I will have to see if I can get EPG Collector to work on Ubuntu - it is reported to be possible, but difficult, as it requires Wine or Mono.
I also called Sky and asked for the EIT data problem to be reported to their engineers so that thay can turn on the one week EIT again, if possible. The helpdesk person I talked to could not understand what I was talking about, but did take down a message from me to email to them. So hopefully on Monday they will get that and at least know that they have a problem. If I am really lucky, they will ring me and ask all about it.
Since EPG is working on Sky's boxes, I don't see they will be interested.
I find this discussion most interesting. I have a problem too with Sky channels Discovery, C&I, BBC Knowledge, Discovery Turbo and BBC World where I have sound but no picture. The problem only started to occur within the last couple of weeks, as best as I can determine.
It occurs on my Skybox V6 (only a few months old and working fine until now). It's a third party device that I have installed in my caravan and allows me to take the sky card from my MySky HDi recorder at home and transfer it to my Skybox V6. It saves me paying Sky an extra subscription when I have already paid. Much the same arrangement as others have with other third party receivers such as the Magic TV box and Duo+ (?). I presume they must have similar problems too.
I'm sure to give up my Sky subscription as it seems to be largely irrelevant to my viewing habits now. I guess this is just speeding up the inevitable.

That sounds like your Skybox V6 does not play H.264 video. One of the main reasons that Sky has been changing out all their old decoder boxes as that they also did not play H.264. It you only bought the Skybox V6 a few months ago, then maybe the retailer who sold it to you should have told you that it does not do H.264 as Sky had already announced that the change to H.264 was coming by then. Anyone who was selling boxes as "Sky compatible" after that announcement should have either told you it would stop working when the change happened, or be prepared to refund you as it is not fit for the purpose under the CGA.
Do a delete and rescan of all channels, the V6 should handle H264 its been around for over a decade
Is anyone else having issues with Oscam? I have a " classD3 ins54: no cw --> Tier expired" error and I'm slightly panicking. It happened randomly today. My 'mate' is dropping off the Sky decoder and I'm hoping it's just a matter of me putting the card back into the decoder and it should work again in my smart card reader.

I am not an Ocam expert, but "expired" sounds like the card need to get authorised again. So yes, putting it in its Sky decoder should fix it, but you have to wait up to 6? hours for all the authorisations for all the cards to have been broadcast. If you want it fixed faster, when you put the card in the decoder (and it does not work there also), then just ring Sky and tell them the message you have on screen and they can push the auth for your card out and get it fixed within a couple of minutes.
I have not worked out how long a card will continue to work if it is not getting reauthorised, but it appears to be well over a month.
Any update with regards to the getting hold of the week forward EPG data for the affected sky channels? I'm using a Duo2 box running Openvix but haven't been able to figure out a work around :(
