Is the browser up to date? Sounds obvious but can you check?

Yes checked that early on. No option to update.

It's a bummer it's not supported - my TV runs off this box. Funny how the message saying the player isn't supported was there when it was working and disappeared when it stopped working.

I've got a NUC running ubuntu 18.04 lightbox, netflix, tvnz all work with Firefox and Chrome, I do remember if you don't install the Sound Codecs on install you can get an error like that with no visible reason, took me a while to figure that out

sudo apt update && sudo apt install ubuntu-restricted-extras

Fixed! I tried those commands - didn't appear to be entirely successful, but what it DID do is force my Chrome browser to to for an update (I'd looked at that, but there was no option showing). And that sorted it. Yay. Now I can chill and finish Preacher! Thanks 😀

So I wasn't off the mark, asking about browser updates?!

Nope - you were on the money, thanks, but yeah, some other strong somewhere was preventing Chrome from checking for updates.
