Yeah, it's way better than SSN. The irony.

Can anyone explain why there's the two different platforms?? I was tempted for the SSN sub on GrabOne, but if it's not likely to get the same improvement, I won't bother.

Because they are VERY different. SkyGo has a LOT of channels, as its an add-on for paying subscribers. SSN is just a sports channel, where replays are hard work. You can't watch a replay when you want, you have to get off the ATV4 and airplay it and within 24 hours. So that keeps people like me from ditching Sky for SSN. Too much hassle, compared with MySky

The latest iOS app update (v2.13.1) changelog simply states “Final enhancements before we give you more control” announcement incoming?

If its unencumbered replays I'm in, otherwise no.

Chromecast now available on SKYGO!

Wow, it's better then Sky on Demand (where download to decoder)

It won't air play to Apple TV, but works great on Chromecast.

Sky Go for the big screen now.

I have to repeat that WOW. This has massively improved the value of a SkyTV subscription. It means we are far more likely to add some more channels.

Honestly, since I've been watching SkyGo (with some $0.99 movies on AppleTV) I've watched very little on Netflix and dumped the free Lightbox accpimt.

With all this love for the PQ, what’s the sound quality and format like? Does Sky Go have discrete audio, eg DD5.1?

If so, I wonder if Sky will ever extend quality sound (and potentially image) to Neon, making it a potentially attractive alternative/companion to Netflix, especially for those of us who aren’t and have no interest in becoming standard Sky subscribers.

If you ran a business, and offered a lower cost product, would you set that product up so all of your regular customers will change to it and get a similar product for a lot cheaper? SSN is there to capture ditchers that want sport not to cannibalise the rest

I just checked with casting to a 4K chromecast. The receiver said that it was 2.0 PCM at 48Khz.

Trying through Chrome it also appeared to be 2.0 sound (I have enabled try-supported-channel-layouts and can have multichannel sound through the browser).

I don't see why the features of SSN and SkyGo can't be mirrored, price it as it needs to be, and then people have options. They were quick to pounce on the SS shortcomings, so why not deliver a significant blow.

SS doesn't have any shortcomings. Its a better picture, it has OD, hence replays

If they made SSN fully featured, unemcumbered replays, the price will go up to offset those that will NOW ditch Sky for SSN. SSN is to capture those that already ditched. Then the value saved is less.

I had noticed this last week and to be honest, once they allow casting/AirPlay it'll be perfect!

It's almost hyper-realistic, the framerate is so high. Fantastic for those of us that are banished to the front room to watch the Phoenix on the computer every week...

Check again Handsomdan!

Chromecast now available on SKYGO!

EUREKA!
