.... when they listed in 2005?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Nice. I have Smiths City, they’re a sorry state.

Sky prices will be freckle at moment. Doesn’t mean nothing until they settle down.  Looks like that 12.37pm may have been the low.

I purchased Sky shares about  5 months back just after a significant drop caused by Covid.

With the Govt saying last week that NZ borders will be closed for at least 12 months still, and realistically up to 18 months.

I missed that announcement? Was it formally disclosed for another 12 months?

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/123488648/coronavirus-government-starting-to-work-through-ramifications-of-a-vaccine--but-borders-could-be-closed-for-another-18-months

I also read somewhere that all the MIQ facilities have contracts until 31st December 2021 as they're expected to be required until then.

Sad to see him go but the new CEO (Sophie) will do very well in the role.  She has been leading most of the big deals at sky over the last couple of years.  Down to earth, great to chat too and listens to what people have to say. :)

I thought of that. When you buy low, which in this case is super low its 90% emotion by everyone else. They still have probably 75%+ of the previous high subscriber level. Reduce costs etc, hang onto rugby, its not L+M Oil! Speaking of which, in my younger days I did really well off the sharemarket. I also played with L+M oil. Shares were just a few cents each. They go up 2 cents that's huge, was fun

90% sorted then. I agree. I expect Sky to reduce capitalisation, so its a smaller business. Emotionally its well in the doldrums, W.T.F., and so on, but its sound. And most of all it has HEAPS of customers. Its 16cents a share???

No thanks. The less media in the hands of the Murdoch family, the better.

There...fixed it for you 😉

Pity he's left, I thought he was on track to make some really good, long-overdue changes at Sky and he was righting the ship a bit.

As another in the 'usually hate on Sky' brigade, I concur that this is a bit of a shame and their new direction was finally looking promising.

I just hope this means that we are still going to get the Shield TV skybox and 'pick and mix' channels that have both been bandied about as possibilities under him.

They are desperate to keep customers, I signed for another year and am at $61.50 for starter/sport/entertainment/soho - Streaming Sport is still terrible with up to 3 minute delays from the live ground and poor quality compared to HD and 3 seconds on my Decoder

My biggest gripe with Sky is multiroom which costs a shocking $25 per month so have resorted to HDMI over CAT6 around my house

Why does that make them "desperate" to keep customers? There are sales by most retailers most weeks, are they desperate as well? Of course, they want to keep customers, much easier to keep a customer than win a customer.
