Yep, and I'm sure all this obtuse behaviour on the part of SkyTV is because they have no effective competition in this country. So that means that the best they can do is rung us up and make those ridiculously stupid offers to subscribe to the Rialto, Arts or whatever channel and "get one month for free"! If that's the best offer they can make to any of their long standing customers who have already shelled out mega $$$ in subscriptions and fees ..

They good ring up like that I say yes then after a mouth a take it off so free chaanels for one mouth

Hello Sean

Thank you for your email.

The only channels we schedule here at SKY are as follows: The Box; Vibe; SKY Movies 1, 2, Greats; SKY Sports 1, 2, 3, Highlights; Prime; Rugby Channel; and Arts. All other channels including ESPN are 'pass through' and provided direct through an international or local feed. We do not have any control over these channels or have any influence over their programme content as these are decided upon by the individual channel.

Please be aware that ESPN comes direct off an international satellite and we receive ESPN's Pacific Rim Feed. The move to HD across the world is very expensive. Each HD truck costs around $25 million US and the move for broadcasters to HD will take some time. We hope you can appreciate that not all events we purchase are available to us in High Definition.

We continue to upgrade our systems and source programmes and sporting events in HD where possible, however please note this is a transitional process and we can not confirm an exact time frame as to when ESPN will be offered in HD on our service.

Please feel free to contact SKY Television Customer Services on 0800 759 759 for further information, alternatively please respond via return email and we will endeavour to reply within 24 hours.

With kind regards,

SKY Customer Services Team

I think they are confusing filming HD content themselves and subscribing to an HD feed. Foxtel in ESPN has a 24/7 ESPN HD feed, so why can't we?

this lame generic copy and paste excuse gets carted out every time you ask a hard question about HD that they really can't or don't want to give you the real answer about.

fantastic news.  I suspect that means that Fox Sports will be filming all their games in HD next year.  In a normal round, Fox Sports show 5 games (3 on Sat, 1 on Sun and 1 on Mon).  Especially as Fox Sports now have Fox Sports 1-3 in HD, rather than just Fox Sports HD.  This was only launched in the last month or so.

I'm surprised how long it's taking Nine to pull finger with NRL in HD.
