cws82us: It be nice and sky will make alot of money if they have USA movies channel so when they come in USA we can see it

I don't think you understand how licencing works. Sky can't just "use" a US movie channel.

And how would it makes them lots of money if they did?

The main reason I (and possibly many others) use Sky is because it's basically the only show in town for what I'm after.

If the decent Freeview HD recorders weren't so blasted expensive, then I might not be using Sky. For the price of one of those Freeivew HD DTR recorders I basically get a 12 month Sky subscription plus additional non-FTA content (that we do watch), and a DTR recorder.

Byrned: I subscribe to Sky and feel the money I pay provides value for money - I can typically always find something to watch, if I'm wanting to watch TV.

Same here, I make great use of Sky every month, so it's worth what I pay for it (with the basic package). Plus my partner and I like different channels so the content is pretty varied for both of us Laughing

Heavy promotion in US theatres, newspaper inserts and on television.  Starts 22-Jan.

I assume that's USA release, not NZ ?

The NZ film set was in the same warehouse building complex where my employers training centre / warehouse is located. Fully secure film set - couldn't even get a look-see !

After watching the first episode today I can tell you that its no Rome (BBC/HBO).  It is, however, STARZ response to the success of Rome.  I dont know whether its because I watched it online (more akin to watching something on an plane) but acting seemed wooden and it lacked a gripping storyline for the first 30-35 minutes.

Think of a cross between Rome and 300.  Rome with gratuitous violence, language and nudity.  It didnt really need it but I guess thats the thing that will distinguish it from its counterparts.  I dont subscribe to STARZ and this wont be compelling me to do so.  If I was a STARZ sub , would I watch it again?  It might get the sophmore episode treatment before making a final decision but it would have to lift its game to get me back week to week.

some interesting points..as i said , i do enjoy what i get from sky, i just wonder how many more channels they are planning on putting out, and as a football nut im a little disappointed theres no F.A cup football on this year, (or none i,ve seen) or League Cup..go Man City!! and as was pointed out before in a previous thread i'd love to have seen the South Africa v England test series, even a highlights package , maybe oppposed to 2008 darts!
