Can anyone confirm if Prime will be in HD on Freeview?

I may be being over simplistic, but if Prime can broadcast the Commonwealth Games in HD, why can't they screen programmes such as Doctor Who, Survivors and True Blood in HD.   Really disappointing!

I suspect that Prime don't have the bandwidth on D1 (Sky) and/or Freeview|HD to go permanently at this stage.

edaw: I think the feed is SD but the Studio output is HD.
Prime will probably be using the studio for all their broadcasts.

I disagree.  They wouldn't bother with all this drama just for a studio feed.  Doordarshan (the host broadcaster) will be filming it all in HD

It says there. "• More than 16 hours of free-to-air live coverage each day on prime in HD"

At least if the source material is HD, the SD version on Freeview should be above average quality. Lucky people with the Sky FTA package- 16 hours a day is a lot to give away free!

being a participant of a minority Comm Games sport, I'm stoked with 5 dedicated channels. I'll finally be some coverage rather than the max 5 mins coverage I might have got if TVNZ still had the rights.

It means I can pick what I want to watch, not what the broadcaster wants to show me.
