Lol. It's a digital signal. It either works or it doesn't, if works don't think there's difference in quality from using different cable.
IME thats not entirely true. When I got MySky HDi installed, the installer hijacked my single HDMI port for it, removing my PS3 connection. I purchased a cheap HDMI switch from TradeMe, and the seller kindly threw in a free HDMI cable. I initially used the original HDMI cable (another cheapie purchased from TradeMe), but I found that every minute or so, the picture would flicker, and a visible line would be rendered across the TV for a fraction of a second. I replaced the HDMI cable with the one I got with the switch, and the problem hasn't occurred since.
You just confirmed that it is true, you cable was on the verge of not working, so you replaced it with one that does.
