please be aware that you still do run a risk of it stopping working any time without an official Sky STB.

Foxtel in Australia have already implemented counter measures to stop people using 3rd party STB's. So far there is no (publicly) known work around.

It is due to card sharing where they loose out on multiroom revenue, and also you not paying $600/$650 (or monthly) for a PVR.

Don't you need the blue card and also to be paying for mysky to get the hd ticket?
So sy still get all the revenue and no wear on their mysky unit you have sitting in a box?

MySky will work on 1 TV with 1 subscription card.  Card sharing will work on many TVs with 1 subscription card.  Card sharing does not mean take the card out and use it in another STB, it means having multiple STBs access 1 card shared between STBs on a network.  The practice is frowned upon here as it is technically stealing a service you are not paying for, and discussions are likely to get locked/deleted.  Don't bother discussing it further, I just wanted to clarify what it is (and I do not do it).
