cyril7: Hi, I dont know what the issue is but could it infact be the frame buffer in your TV. Dont forget when running movies the deinterlacer will be working quite different to 1080i video material as would be on TV1/2/3 (unless running movies) or Sky sport.

Cyril

But wouldn't that same issue then show if we rewind and play back the same freezing frame?

Is this just skymovies hd having this problem, or all the hd movie channels?

When the recording is played back from start to finish is there any glitches?  We havent noticed anything here but will keep an eye on it.

Just sky movies 1, I think that's the only channel that transmits in 1080i anyway besides sport, which I don't have.

A recorded movie played back in full has no issues.

Yes only seen it on Movies 1 (last night again in RED). It only happens once per movie (so far).

I'm going to start recording the time as i think for me its happening around the same time (about 09:30)

Happens for me anytime day or night. Just has to be a fast action movie to set it off.

I really first noticed this problem the other night when i was watching "Unstoppable" on Sky movies. Lot's of fast paced camera panning and when the train was moving fast, there was a lot of jerkiness in the picture which wasn't good. I have never seen this before on any movies. I have a projector and LCD TV and i've seen it on both since. Something has definitely changed and I am pretty sure it is not at my end. Will follow this with interest and contact Sky if it continues.

This happens to us all the time on our Mysky box and we got Mysky a couple of years ago now.

It happens on any channel and anytime when playing back recordings.

We figure it is a faulty part of the diskdrive.

We are hoping to upgrade to mysky+ for the bigger drive when we can afford another $99 install fee.

And that is when we know our issue will be fixed until the new one starts doing it ;-).

We have learnt to live with it now.

You shouldn't have to. If the unit is faulty ring Sky and ask them to replace it.

If you already have MySky I don't think you have to pay another install fee. They just change the box and increase the monthly charge. Suggest you ring them and check.

Their website says upgrade to mysky+ for $99 install fee and I have heard of people being charged for that when upgrading mysky to mysky+ - I have not heard any differently until your post.

I will give them a call - only problem is, I have so much to watch with all the new season programmes that have just started - I don't want to lose my recordings and we can't afford to have two mysky boxes right now.

Please do follow up with Sky, they don't seem to think its an issue because I'm the only one to complain etc. I am powerless
