Yabanize: IMO the pricing needs to be $20 a month, $5 a week

Everyone else charges ~$10-15/week PER sport.  For 4 channels of 24hr sport for a week at $20 thats 672 potential hours of viewing so 3c as a Cost Per Viewing Hour (the industry metric).

I wondered how pricing was compared to everything else.  And whether perception (of outrageous pricing) was reality.
Seems not.

No offence meant... I just had a giggle... was thinking you must have been trying to justify the price to another family member aka the boss?

None taken.  I weighed up the cost of building the sports I watch - and quickly realised that it became expensive fast.  I hated having to pay for NFL and NHL and NBA separately on top of my cable package in North America.  Thought that individual sports would be cost effective with no paytv.  Found out fast that it only works if you want one or two and and are happy to sacrifice the rest.

networkn: use 64 9 xxx xxxx

Assuming you are in Auckland. That is the international way to dial a number.

If it won't take that try +64 9 xxx xxxx

I am in Wgtn.

Doesn't work though.

WTF?

Just had the same issue... it's a bit dumb because the other formats are perfectly valid as phone numbers,  but you have to use the following format

64-XXXXXXXXXX

i.e. 64-491234567

If you use any of the following it will not work

64 491234576
64 4 91234576
64 4 9123 4567
64-4-91234567
64-4-9123-4567
+64-41234567

I really hate websites that expect rigid formats . . . there are free tools that can be used to validate phone numbers, they are so easy it is dumb.

I've always found sky to be really backwards when it comes to usability and design of their customer facing IT systems.

That depends on their policy regarding third party software.  But surely not too hard to write something that is less rigid.  Especially when their help desk suggests to copy and paste the example anyway.  If they don't need the information then they should remove it or make it optional.

I would be interested in hearing peoples experiences recently with the streaming quality?  Has it improved, got worse, or is it about the same?  Any buffering and/or picture issues to report?

Can you use a Chromebook(Google OS) for FanPass? Guessing you can, but thought I would ask.

Used Fanpass this morning in the office to watch the All Blacks game at the office and was pretty impressed with the service overall.
The only frustrating thing I found was not being able to signup via their App, you need to visit the website to register before you can use it.

Other then that there was no buffering, HD quality and the chromecast support was perfect meaning we didn't have to get a laptop all setup to watch it.

Any comments made are my personal views and does not represent those of my employer

Another question,

Do these $5 Passes stack? Guessing they don't, but thought it was worth the ask anyway. IE: Can I buy 10 of them, to last me 10 weeks? Lol.

I didn't have any problems this morning either. Well actually I did, I stuttered for 1 second, that was it.

Very happy with FanPass.

Case sensitive? The code is in caps.
