I'm yet to confirm the latter, but may give it a go in the next week or so.

This definitely works. I added my OneSmart card to my US iTunes account today, and we rented two movies from the US store without any fuss.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Western Digital media streaming products. I have ATV2 which is great for all the iTunes stuff - mainly music - and I use the WD TV Live to play any other content directly and wirelessly from my NAS so I don't have to have a computer running, this is awesome if you've ripped your DVDs or have other digital content that the ATV won't handle or won't connect to.

Air Video is awesome. I got the free version and can stream to my ATV great. The problem I'm now having is an itunes account issue.

Because I've said I'm in the USA on my itunes account (to get hulu to work) it now wont' take my NZ credit card...

How have others got around this issue?

I can confirm that the one smart card works well for US iTunes accounts, just give any random address in the US and away you go.

Make sure it's a legit address though - Apple periodically validates the addresses and flags your account if the address is not valid, which will force you to enter a new address (which gets annoying really quickly).

And better yet, pick one from a state with no sales tax to make purchases cheaper.

Does it have to be an exact address including street name and number?

I imagine the person who owns that house wouldn't be too hapy if he knew you were using his/her address.

I just used a hotel I stayed at once! Tbh they will never post anything and I think you could make up an address. I think the zip code is the main thing you need right. Though if you do use netflix make sure you only ever use the online only option. You don't want to order DVDs...

Currently yes. Although iTunes Radio is meant to be launching in NZ early 2014.

Nope, the Netflix and Hulu Plus apps show up simply by changing your location to United States, no iTunes account required. If you subscribe to Netflix and HuluPlus direct you don't need a US iTunes account at all to use them on the Apple TV.

Interesting, thanks. The instructions I followed specified you had to sign in with a US account.

No matter, I use my US account to get at all the yummy US content (and iTunes Radio) :-)

I actually quite like iTunes Radio for that fact it is on my Apple TV. I use YouTube, Netflix (used to watch MLB) and iTunes Radio all on my ATV. Having it in one place is nice. Once ATV is expanded it would really dominate my viewing... till that day [if ever] it's still fine!
