I would guess they would just be another Pace box similar to the existing MySky. I finally returned mine a few weeks ago. It was a thoroughly liberating experience saying goodbye to Sky.

Pace have designed new boxes, http://www.pace.com/global/our-portfolio/set-top-box/satellite/ , H.264/H.265 with some outputting 4K. Sky will be going with the HD only models I assume.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Apsattv: Funny we have 2 legacy decoders and just got call a few minutes ago offering us an upgrade to mysky. Yes later this year Sky will start a free replacement of all legacy Sky receivers. Once done they can remove the duplicate SD feeds of some channels, freeing up bandwidth. Also as the new receivers will have network access they can push their online services to gain extra income from the subscriber Look for SKY to continue to charge extra fees for HD access and the ability to record on the new receivers! also look for them to give users the HD feed of some channels but downscale it to SD via the receiver if you didn't pay for the HD ticket.

More about the switch to DVB-S2 H.264 on all transponders, whether the mpeg2 dross is duplicate is irrelevant as it won't exist.

trig42: I see Stuff reporting the Neon starts today: http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/digital-living/66093432/sky-televisions-neon-to-launch-today

If the get a SmartHub or AppleTV App (and HD with 5.1), I might check out the trial, otherwise, I am not interested.

AppleTV app?  No. I assume you mean the Neon app for iPad?

Rumours are that ATV will be app available one day. If it was, that would change everything, it would mean an Apple TV can run everything. Apple" non likers" could just get an ATV, Apple ID and be set with just a small hockey puck, as there seems to be an app from all players. Having a PS3 for Lightbox works well, but no PS3 for Netflix. Sigh.

If you have a US PSN you could get the Netflix app. I'm sure when it officially launches they'll release the app on the nz playstation store.
