networkn: I foresee a drop in sky subscription charges within 12 months.

I'm picking 3. They will watch the churn from 31 March. The question is will they drop the costs, or will they add content, such as free Soho, etc? Will they offer PPV for some sports? They may drop prices a little then add a lot of freebies such as Movies. Interesting times. My bill is 99.74, post CWC it will be zero. All I have is Basic, Sports, HD Ticket and the MySky

Sadly as long as Rugby is played first on Sky, I'll have Sky. If it wasn't for that, it would be gone. I am actually tempted to drop it for 3 months now, so that I can get back to getting it on promotional pricing in time for the RWC.

If not, it will definitely be gone after the RWC.

I also use it for food tv which I love love love, however I just don't have the time to watch much any more

UK ITV will be broadcasting RWC so a Unotelly sub should be all you need...

Unsure how I'd get that on my 106" projector, plus will it be play on demand with rewind and fast forward that works nicely? Also loss of NZ commentary not ideal.

I would think loss of NZ commentary would be a bonus. NZ commentators are so ridiculously one-eyed.

/me shrug, I like it, I don't find it that way too often. Balance that out by the fact they know the (NZ/AU) players  much better than the UK commentators will and I'd prefer to listen to them.

Compared to the Australian commentators, the Kiwis are pretty good, IMHO. They can acknowledge when an opposition team has done well, or when the ABs have stuffed up. The Aussies only have two modes "The Wallabies are Gods! The opposition are cheating!"

Dratsab: Lightbox adding Chromecast support coupled with a price drop will see me re subscribing, along with keeping Netflix. Now, if only they'd do a welcome back offer for Geekzoners... ;-)

Chromecast via more than just selected Samsung devices please..........

(edit: added the please)

Chromecast?  Hard to say without knowing how your kit is set up but I wouldn't have thought you'd need to hire a rocket scientist.  Also hard to say what the exact functionality will be, and only you know whether it's worth $200

Agree, our commentators are experts, they are quick to praise the opposition, that's my opinion.

Fabian: Stink, my free 12 months of lightbox just went down in value by $24!!!!

I'm currently trying to sell my 12 month voucher on trademe and it's not even worth $50...

Because asking $99 for something that 650,000+ people have access to for free as Spark broadband customers(49% market share as of their 2014 report) is nuts.

Anyone that has broadband and wants Lightbox is very likely to know someone who could get it free for them. Someone did buy one on TM for $40 however so there is a market at a far cheaper price..

and potentially it won't work if you are a spark customer (I don't know how this might be policed, but many people won't want to risk buying a voucher they may not be able to actually use)

so you have half the country that already has the voucher (and presumably can't use it twice), and the other half who don't know for sure that it will work.

not surprising that it is $50 or less on trademe.
