Presso: Hmm , wonder why ours did not update.

We are doing it in waves over the next couple of months.
Everyone will get an update at some point, and no we can't bump people to the top of the list.

@Presso, if you look in the other current Sky thread you will see the shortcut keys to force the decoder to download the update. Sky might not be able to bump you to the top of the list, but you can certainly bump yourself :-)

For those of you who have been waiting for the new software to order the Sky Link, you can now order it online before you get the upgrade (or at least I could).

MartyP: Been using the upgraded interface for a few days now - seems slightly faster than old.  Don't particularly like the colour scheme, pity there are no alternatives in settings.  Yet to explore the on-demand offerings

Well if you think it is slightly faster than the old interface then your stop watch is due for a service. When you get to check the
"offerings" you will enjoy the On Demand movies in fuzzy vision no matter what your current plan is, that goes for sport as well. The only way to get any HD is to fork out another $7.00 for Box Office over and above your already very expensive subscription. Do hope you enjoy this very generous free upgrade from Sky.

Lots and lots of content.  Its gotta worth at least the same if nor more value than a standard definition Netflix plan of $10/month.  So havent basic subs got $10/month of free upgrade?

Wow, some people just see the negative in everything.

OK, some areas of the new UI are no faster, but many are. For example, scrolling ahead to view upcoming programmes is much better. In the old UI, once you got a few days ahead you'd often scroll right and land on a blank screen and be waiting quite a while for the content to display. Now I can scroll seven days ahead and the listings appear immediately. Plus there are time-saving features built in like favourite channels and search, so you don't have to do so much scrolling in the first place.

I wasn't paying for the HD ticket before, so I'm not particularly concerned about your "fuzzy vision" problem. When you wear glasses as thick as mine, even 4K is a bit fuzzy anyway.

Already done it when I first seen the instructions laughing

I like the new interface and options, drags it out of the dark ages into something more suitable. Just takes a little getting used to.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Something I think is new, while watching a prerecorded program, I could view the Guide without it jumping back to Live TV. I could schedule recordings while the program kept playing. Nice.

1. Turn My Sky HDi on -- blue power light should be present

2. Press 'select' and 'back' until it turns off

3. Wait for it to start, power light is a purple colour

4. Perform the "Power", "up" arrow, "down" arrow, and then "Power" sequence straight away the second time the ring lights.

Looks good, bit of getting used to. Concerned that it defaults to playing the guide which looks awful

Now I have to pull out my super cool and heavy TV cabinet and TV to access the ethernet connection, ugh

rugrat: ...Wonder why the limitation on how many can be upgraded at once?....

....We've had Sky satellite since it's very beginnings as a 5 channel analogue service....

Just out of curiosity, when SKY first appeared in New Zealand, what were the five channels???
wonder if someone out there still has the very first SKY WATCH magazine with TV listings inside? :D
