Got one of these on the way as well. It supports the appropriate DRM so should be all good for Lightbox...

I have a Xiaomi Mi Box on it's way (actually just arrived at YouShop today). I'll be interested to see if it works with LightBox.
Has it arrived yet? Keen to hear how you got on :)
The box is here but Lightbox isn't available in the Play store via the device, presumably because its an Android TV device.
Are you allowed to provide an APK?
Mike
Yes, I can do. Bear in mind this will be provided on an as-is / where-is basis: we can't be responsible for damage or loss arising from installing it this way (as opposed to the usual route via Play Store).
If you agree, drop me a PM and I'll send you a link to the APK.

Using Lightbox on the Xiaomi Mi Box successfully, both via casting and via the app. Being a android TV box brings its quirks however - the remote does not work with the lightbox app, however if I plug in a mouse am able to use the app fine.
Video plays fine, no DRM issues.
Lightbox would need to address the need to use via remote, but other than that...
This may be answered elsewhere, but would Love to have lightbox available on my Amazon Firetv's . Happy to sideload & understand the lack of support if it's as simple as getting a copy of your APK @Georgefromlightbox

Do you know if you were given the android tv apk or the normal android apk?
I have the android tv app on my x8500c sony tv, which works with the remote.
It appeared in the featured apps row but, you still can not download or install it from the play store.
I also have a new Xiaomi Mi Box which I want to install it on but, since its not on the app store an apk would be the only way.
Bazil: It was the APK that @GeorgefromLightbox linked me. Does not appear to be an Android TV version?
I will send @GeorgefromLightbox a message maybe he can link the real Android TV version apk.
I don't know why its not on the Android TV play store when its available on sony Android TVs in the featured apps row.
Happy New Year all :)
Think I've replied to those of you asking for the APK...if not, drop me a msg.

Just got my Mi Box and I can't get Lightbox to cast to it, even though Lightbox will cast to a normal Google Chromecast.
Can I just compare my setup with yours:
Android TV 6.0.1
Cast Receiver version 1.23.86325
Latest version of Lightbox app on iPhone 4s and Damsung Galaxy 3 (Lightbox does not cast to the MiBox from either device).
I have tried both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi on the Mi Box
I have tried Location On and Off on the Mi Box
The only thing I have not tried is an ethernet adaptor to the Mi Box
What I do get is all the control tools, program name and episode details at the bottom of the screen, but it will not play the video.
Any idea what you did differentley? And indeed is Lightbox casting still working for you - if so what version numbers are you using?
Thanks
Anyone tried the APK on a FireTV?
It would be great it the various NZ APKs would support remote control access rather than requiring a mouse.

I assume you have seen this thread (https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=171&topicid=213826) where the OP was asking if someone could create a Lightbox Android TV .apk from their Sony TV.

Funny you should ask. I loaded the Lightbox APK onto my Fire TV Stick yesterday evening. I've found it unusable so far as the app isn't playing well with the remote, the android based remote or the BT keyboard I've paired. The non responsiveness first came into play after I'd signed in and a dialogue box appeared advising I already had 3/5 devices registered - I couldn't clear this message and ended up having to power off the stick.
I had a similar issue when I went back into Lightbox the second time and a dialogue appeared advising my default setting was data saver. Again I couldn't clear this message but clicking Home and then going back into the app sorted that out. However, the lack of responsiveness came back and although the screen would scroll up and down, I couldn't actually select any programs to watch. On selecting the Exit option, I was presented with another unclearable dialogue box asking if I wanted to exit or cancel.
I'm hoping this will solve problem. I've already purchased and installed on my phone. I'll install it on the stick when I get home from work and will report back.
Edit: @GeorgefromLightbox - tagging you in as an FYI. Is Lightbox working on, or are there any plans for, Amazon Fire TV integration (including remote control support)? I'd be happy to be a beta tester.

Update: It works well and thus I now have a fully functional Lightbox installation and can use any one of a number of browsers. You have to install the app on the AFT and your smartphone. You also have to ADB enabled in the developer settings of the AFT. There's two mouse modes 'Mouse' and 'Dpad'. Mouse gives you an on-screen cursor and allows you to do what you'd expect. DPad allows you to easily scroll up and down within an app or browser window. It's relatively intuitive, having to switch between mouse modes is a minor nuisance. The mouse default speed is set at 2.5 which makes fairly zippy but a bit inaccurate. I changed it to 2.0 and it's pretty good now.

@steve2222 yeah hoping for an APK that doesn't require a mouse to work
