SKY don't have the satellite capacity to do much with 4K yet

They do, and Skysport is now 4k on the new box
Problem is, that while Australia have upgraded Cameras, Production, and Stadium Backhaul Equipment New Zealand is severely lacking behind in that investment so only overseas games are broadcast in 4K
Getting the content live, from the stadium to our Television sets at home in 4K is a mammoth investment.

Not true. Select Suepr Rugby games in NZ are in 4K to - the Hurricanes game last week was. But yes, limited and a long way from a full 4K rollout.
I'll keep the black box for a while longer. My Sony TV upscales 1080p content very well, so I'll wait until Sky have a much larger 4K coverage.

Sky posted half yearly report this morning.
"Sky TV has made a strong first-half profit and is on track to pay shareholders a full year dividend of at least 30 cents a share.
While it expects trading conditions to remain challenging, Sky TV chief executive Sophie Moloney said earnings growth would continue into the next financial year.
"The first half of FY26 marks an important step forward for Sky," she said.
